Rangercast Episode 131: On Location @ Otakon 2009 (Part I- Instant Replay)
Rangercast made the list of finalists for the 2009 Parsec Awards. We're not going to be at Dragon*Con, but if you're going, check out the ceremony!

After a week of sleep, food, errands and YouTube-powered procrastination, Tyler finally got to work on Otakon stuff.

Anyway, this is part 1 of our Otakon audio. Part 2 is a bit of the Bandai panel, random hijinks and your Rangercast crew talking about what went down. And here are our awesome photos taken by our awesome photographer (read: Tyler).

Here are some timecodes to make your life easier:

12:05- Tony talks about getting involved with Saban

14:27- How does Tony like Kamen Rider Dragon Knight? Funny story that. He likes it.... aaaand he worked on the game.

19:25- A fan asks a question about MMPR DVD's, which got spun into an answer you probably already know by now...

22:45- A fan asks a voice credit question about PR and Tony starts talking Wizard of Deception. He wasn't just the voice, turns out. The man was busy.

26:20- Tony talks about his thoughts about Sentai and Kamen Rider.

29:38- What was Tony's favorite episode to write? You won't be surprised.

36:52- If Tony were a Ranger, which one would he be?

44:00- What were the differences between working on the movie and working on the TV show?

52:30- Mr. "Two Quick Questions" asks about working with Thuy Trang and how Amy Jo Johnson pretends PR never happened.

Rangercast Episode 60: Rangercast @ Otakon 2007 (Part 2- Freedom)

Saturday and Sunday, let's do this.
2:20- Tyler runs down the Media Blasters panel. Not having viable audio sucks.
3:59- AAA panel rundown and one clip. Yeah, the panel rooms just are not set up for field recording. Somebody asks them if they're KR fans. Hehehe. One of them later mentioned owning a KR suit. Oh snap.
7:28- Tyler speaks with Steve Baird again, asks how that therapy's going.
9:35- Tyler shares a story of the Dealer's Room.
10:11- The legendary Purple Tentacle of Otakon has been unmasked.
11:41- Tyler interviews many Anonymii in the 4chan line. Here we go again.
12:51- Right next to the car going down the street blasting the generic rap track of the moment, Tyler hears another car blasting Hare Hare Yukai. Yep, welcome to Otakon.
13:30- The sounds of the 4chan line. WHOOOOO!
18:54- Trends in Tokusatsu panel
1:11:33- Tyler discusses the AAA press conference. Autographs 3 was not a good room for recording. But it was fun. Tyler took some notes.
1:20:17- Mike recounts his guest encounters over lunch and Otakon's final moments.
1:22:19- Tyler does a rundown of how Otakon went on the whole. Wish you were here. August 8-10, 2008. Be there.

Also, buried within the episode, Tyler gets a clue to the current whereabouts of David Yost, and no, he's not working in a pizza shop.

Rangercast Episode 58: Rangercast at Otakon 2007 (Part 1- Prelude to a Climax)
You know, I had a whole plan set to make RC58 the Once a Ranger ep.  We were going to record it Friday or Saturday night and I'd have it up by the end of the weekend and have Otakon part 1 already ready to go so I could take the week off.  Unfortunately, on Friday night, Mother Nature, fate, and the fine people at Comcast got together and decided "No Tyler!  No Rangercast for you!" and knocked my cable out.  Comcast doesn't feel like getting out to my place to fix it until Wednesday, but that doesn't mean I didn't have a plan B to get something to keep the feed warm.  So here, thanks to the power of elbow grease, Borders wi-fi, and sheer force of will, for your listening pleasure, is Part 1 (Thursday and Friday) of Otakon 2007.

I intercept Mike Dent at the airport and after some wrangling we make it down to the always-lovely Baltimore Convention Center for the Otakon's famed pre-game festivities: the pre-reg pickup.  We meet up with Gerald (Anime World Order) as he shares in-depth one-syllable insights into the madness.  Friday, the fun really starts.  I land a brief chat with John Sirabella (Media Blasters) about how KR The First did and how it looks for future toku releases.  Then later, we watch AAA rock the house, as Mike and I scream like retards during Climax Jump.  And no, no bootleg audio.

Finally, we wrap up the day's fun with the full audio of the Podcaster's Roundtable, featuring yours truly, Mike, Gerald, Dave and Joel (Fast Karate for the Gentleman), Rym and Scott (Geek Nights), and Erin and Noah (Ninja Consultants).  Oh yeah, we rocked that panel room.
