BOOM! Studios on Thursday officially announced their VR Troopers comic, a six-issue series spunoff of Power Rangers Prime.

The series, written by Mairghread Scott with art by Sebastián Piriz, launches with VR Troopers # 1 in June 2025.

The logline:

The VR Troopers are the most elite of the Eltarian empire’s human heroes on Earth, but what secrets are the Eltarian’s keeping?  When VR Ryan tracks down a rogue Skug, he’ll come face-to-face with a foe who will change his understanding of VR—and himself—forever!

VR Troopers was a sister Saban superhero show, running in syndication from 1994 to 1996. It told the story of three teens who harness virtual reality powers to defend the real world from Grimlord, who seeks to conquer both realities. It was based on three Metal Hero shows: Space Sheriff Shaider, Dimensional Warrior Spielban and Super Android Metalder.

VR Troopers #1 features a main cover by Taurin Clarke (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) with variants by James Stokoe, Christian Ward and other artists to be announced.
